Envirolution starts clubs in high schools, colleges, and communities that provide real world opportunities for members to get involved in learning about and solving our environmental problems. This first year, our clubs, website, and events will have reached nearly 3,000 people.

Members participate in our clubs via our three avenues of Educate, Unite, and Take Action. Students can specialize in one track or work in all three. The Educate track increases awareness at school and in the greater community by leading students through a progression of sustainability education. All members take our introductory sustainability workshop to learn the basics. As students progress, they delve into basic energy and waste auditing, systems thinking, and carbon footprinting. Students then learn to do full sustainability audits of small businesses and their schools. Finally, trained as youth sustainability consultants, students learn metrics to assess local businesses’ sustainability and then recommend improvements.

In the Unite track, students facilitate partnerships between school clubs and local green organizations for collaboration with Envirolution on future projects. In addition, the Unite team connects with the national network to keep local students updated on upcoming events or new information.

The Take Action track attracts diverse students by promoting projects in art, writing, music, video, athletic events, and more. Students will organize large events that educate and involve the school and the surrounding community. The possibilities for Take Action are infinite because we encourage students to put all their talents to use.
